I traced this image off of a scan from Minitokyo by Nuriko. There were lots of folds and creases in Okita's uniform to keep me happily amused. Since vectors give a "flat" image, I decided to continue with the flatness and make a scene where he was sitting in front of a shoji screen. I added the shadow of Hijikata (from a scan I uploaded to Minitokyo called "Big Fish") to make the background more interesting. At first the shoji screen was dark; almost black, but after some experimentation with colors I found I liked this slightly bleached out lighter version instead.
